domain
the name
this domain was bought late 2007 or early 2008 (I can't remember which, really), and a layout didn't go up for months because I'm tremendously lazy. the name, warfaire.net, is kind of random and a little more odd. I've formed this fascination with the word "war" in the past months, and while trying to create an account on insanejournal I played with all sorts of variation of words like "war" and "warlord" and "warfare" I could think of. as I was doing it I recalled my fondness for deliberate misspellings to form words that sounded the same but had a different meaning, and it occurred to me to try "warfair." I've been in love with it ever since, because it has the same faintly dark tones as "warfare" but with an added exoticism of a sort when you think of fairs or festivals. when trying for a domain, warfair.net was taken, but warfaire.net (which comes with the even more additional old-timeyness of the added "e") was not. if that makes any sort of sense written out instead of in my head.the network name
when first plotting out this domain, I was planning on using the name "the Ever Eternal network," but something about it just didn't feel right. the "hips and hearts network," though, comes from one of my favorite bands (that being Fall Out Boy), and Pete's strange fascination with hips, hearts, and cars.the layout
the current layout, "I cry when angels deserve to die," features Lucifer of Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary, with lyrics from System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" all scans were colored by me using Photoshop CS2. brushes are from acme_graphics, artflower, and 84% (link not working 8|). textures are from (I think, if I'm wrong drop me a line and correct me) own the sunshine. pattern from imagination.
